Candida/Yeast Infection Treatment

Grapefruit Seed Extract

Candida/Yeast infection has a separate page.

an Alternative to Antibiotics

A comparison study undertaken in the 1980’s, demonstrated the ability of grapefruit seed extract to be as efficacious as 18 other antibiotics of synthetic origin, without the usual associated side effects of them.

a Natural Antiseptic

GSE is a natural antiseptic and water purifier when potable water is inaccessible – in many areas of third world countries, water borne illnesses kill more people than all the non-communicable diseases put together. In today’s age of technological advancements and developments in health and medicine, this is a travesty at least. Grape fruit seed extract was found to be a very cheap, relatively easily accessible natural anti-bacterial and anti-protozoal when added to questionable water. It has also been discovered to be an anti-amebicidal in vitro (in test tubes in the lab). To disinfect, simply add ten drops of the liquid extract to visibly clear water, agitate for a short period, then let stand for a couple more minutes. If consuming river water, as much as 25 drops may be needed, once prior filtration has been done.

Natural Alkalinizing Agent

Although considered naturally acidic along with other citrus fruits, surprisingly upon ingestion they exert an alkaline effect. In addition grapefruit seed extract contains high levels of vitamin c, e and bioflavonoids, which are considered strong antioxidants and knockout free radicals that damage cells and cause diseased states. It was also postulated once, that all diseased states of the body come about directly as a result of oxygen deficiency; further stating that when the body is supplied with abundant amounts of oxygen cancer cells, pathogenic organisms and toxins are eliminated or killed.

Treats Gingivitis or Bleeding Gums

The logic behind this one is simple, gingivitis is a diseased state of the gum line resulting in inflammation and soreness. Now, the cause of this is bacterial in origin, so GSE’s anti-microbial effect is a viable option to combat this problem. Bleeding gums commonly result from a deficiency of vitamin c, so in addition to preventing the foul odour that bleeding gums exude, it is loaded with the vitamin to help improve this condition.

Treatment of Thrush

Thrush is a fungal infection, commonly affecting newborns and persons with immuno-compromised systems. Grapefruit seed extract, apart from possessing immune system bolstering vitamin c, is a proven anti-fungal as well. As thrush is considered an infection localized mainly to the mouth, a good GSE mouth rinse should do the trick in rectifying symptoms. Within four days symptoms should be resolved completely.

Treatment for Stretch Marks

Even though grapefruit seed extract by itself is not effective in treating stretch marks, when combined with other ingredients such as vitamin e, vitamin a and squalene oil, it has been demonstrated to significantly diminish the appearance of stretch marks. It is not possible to erase their appearance, but to suppress it to a level barely noticeable.

a Natural Sanitizer

May be made into a solution and sprayed to possibly contaminated areas, such as kitchen countertops, bathrooms etc. Can also be sprayed directly on raw meats to reduce the risk of food poisoning.

a Natural Wart Remover

May help to dissolve warts, but is a slow process. Many report treatment durations in excess of 8 weeks.

Sinus Infections

Can help to relieve sinusitis as a result of bacterial infection and inflammation. Becomes even more effective if placed into a nebulizer and inhaled. Heating is reported to release latency of its compounds.

Treatment for Mange and Giardia (Dogs & Cats)

For treatment of mange in dogs, a topical spray solution applied daily works most of the time. Mange can be identified as being parasitic in nature (caused by a worm), and GSE is also qualified as an anti-helmintic (anti-parasitic) supplement. If internal parasite infections are a worry, no problem, as GSE is fine for use in your pet too.

Dosage

Different forms must be used differently, please read the label. If  you are taking the grapefruit seed extract internally, then the extract must be used in the diluted form. While adults can drink 1-5 drops of the extract with a glass of water up to three times a day, it should be diluted more for children and children above the age of five can drink one to three drops mixed in a glass of water once or twice. It can also be mixed with juice and consumed with or without food. It must be diluted for external use in all case. For an ear rinse, it has to be mixed with alcohol, for a nasal or vaginal rinse, it must be mixed with glycerin, and to gargle with, it has to be diluted with water. A daily dose of grapefruit extract will help you and your family stay healthy and fit.

Side effects

Grapefruit seed extract can be used by people of all ages. A very minuscule percentage of people are allergic to citrus fruit, but even they can use the grapefruit seed extract in low doses. There have been accounts of people consuming it for many years without any side effects.

Summary &  Top 3 Benefits of Grapefruit Seed Extract

Also called as citrus seed extract, grapefruit seed extract (GSE) is a concentrated liquid combination of the grapefruit’s pulps, seeds and its white membrane. Grapefruit itself is a natural healthy fruit; however, studies have accounted its effectiveness in its extract form.

GSE composition

Grapefruit seed extract has numerous benefits due to its vitamin and mineral contents. It is a very good source of Vitamin C that, if properly absorbed by the digestive system, will be evenly distributed throughout all the various systems in the body. Vitamin C, which is found not just in GSE but in multitudes of fruits and vegetables, is a great transporter of an amino acid known as carnitine, a substance that effectively burns fat and transforms it into usable energy. Apart from that, GSE is a powerful antioxidant that eliminates toxins from the body, thus, reducing the risk of illness and even cancer.

The top 3 benefits

1. Lowers high blood pressure

Based on the fact that grapefruit seed is a wonderful source of vitamin C, it is then attested that it can lower increased levels of blood pressure. By dissolving the build-up of fat along the blood vessels and transforming it into energy that can be utilized by the body, it then prevents the formation of plaques and calcification that are the usual causes of heart disease.

A study conducted by Harvard University stated that grapefruit has the capacity to reduce low density lipoprotein levels by a whopping 33%.

2. Rids of fungi, parasites and bacteria

In an article published by Dr. Donald Dennis, a mold medical expert, he clearly identified 10 perfect reasons why grapefruit seed extract is an essential substance. In summary, he stated that GSE can eradicate bacteria present on food and water. He also pointed out that citrus seed extracts can gradually remove warts, gingivitis, parasites and candida albicans.

Furthermore, Dr. Dennis has emphasized that GSE is an excellent natural alternative in reducing the duration of cold sores and treating sinusitis or flu.

3. Natural medication against infection

The Journal of Alternative and Complimentary Medicine has published in their June 2002 issue that grapefruit seed extract works as a natural antibiotic that can effectively kill numerous broad spectrum and dangerous bacteria. It is also a great remedy for vaginal, skin and yeast infections.

Grapefruit seed extract in its natural form, is considered to be very potent and beneficial for the body’s well-being. For those who are allergic with citrus fruits, do not consider grapefruit seed extract as your alternative choice. If you feel any undesirable or uncomfortable signs and symptoms while taking GSE, discontinue at once. Still, it is advisable to drop by your physician’s office and have a word with him regarding your best option.

Hi there, my partner caught a bad case of giardia in India in april last year and and thought it was delhi belly until 6 months later he had a re-lapse and got diagnosed with giardia. So he was carrying the bug for a good 6 months without knowing. He was treated through a doctor and tested negative, but 2 months later (now) he is having the same symptoms. Would you recommend GSE?

  • Susan Bruwer says:

Were can I buy GSE wholesale?

  • Julie says:

I take a grapefruit seed oil capsule every day.
I have had breast cancer and after lymph gland clearance I had a bad infection.
It left me with lymphodema in my breast and trunk. I decided to try grapefruit seed capsules. The difference it has made is unbelievable.
I am not the type of person who likes taking any sort of medication. I have had so many antibiotics and going back to the doctors would have meant the same.
I briefly stopped taking grapefruit seed oil and all my symptons returned. I will now take it for the rest of my life.
I would like more research to be done as I really think it is a miracle product. I understand that it can be put in contaminated water in third world countries making it safe for drinking!!!!!

  • Teri says:

Due to a major pre-menopausal imbalance I experienced impossibly painful vaginal inflammation that began immediately at the start of my period and continued on after. Using pads during my period worsened the skin irritation. It was so painful I couldn’t sit, sleep, or walk and the itching caused bleeding in my tender areas. Out of desperation I coated the inflamed bleeding area of skin with Virgin Coconut Oil and GSE and felt immediate relief so I coated a tampon with Virgin Coconut Oil and added 4 drops of GSE on the end of the tampon then inserted it into my vagina. Within the hour my flaming internal burning ceased and within 8 hours I was feeling normal. I removed the old and inserted a new treated tampon every 8 hours for 3 days. The burning and itching ceased and did not return and has not returned.

Studies have been done on a number of GSE’s on the market to categorize the active compounds…it turns out that GSE does NOT act as an antibicromial/antifungal/antibacterial agent. Those benefits come from the parabens and triclosan added to the GSE as a preservative. Plain old GSE without preservatives has none of those benefits. It still may have Vitamin C and be an antioxidant, but without preservatives, it won’t kill anything.

I had a co-worker several years ago that had tried everything for acne. I gave her a small bottle of GSE oil and after 2 weeks she wanted to know where to get some. She had been in a battle with acne since teenage years and told me this was the ONLY thing that had EVER worked! I would swear that this is a miracle drug. It also cured my teenager of strep throat.

  • Eddie says:

“Studies have been done on a number of GSE’s on the market to categorize the active compounds…it turns out that GSE does NOT act as an antibicromial/antifungal/antibacterial agent. ”

Nonsense, Abby. The “study” you cite is a fake. Benzalkonium Chloride doesn’t have the antibiotic properties of GSE and wouldn’t amplify or negate those properties even if it were present in the GSE.

Trolls cite this fake “study” all the time without providing a link to any website which presents the study. BAC isn’t present at any level in any of the top brands of GSE packaged for human consumption. Do the research yourself before accepting this phony evidence presented in the post I quoted.

  • Li says:

Ecoli and parasites!! I caught Ecoli after neck surgery and was very ill for 2 years. I couldn’t fight the infection or the parasites! I tried everything until I tried combo of GFS and Diatomaceous earth. The next day after taking DE I felt better and aw week later I could a actually stand up! 3 month later I am back to normal..
Grapefruit definately help with the virus. I was breaking out with red blotches and they went away too! Diatomaceous earth ( human consumption is the best for parasites!! If you have kidney problems, bladder, urinary, this will help you immediately!! You must drink lots of water!! GFS and DE saved my life when antibiotic did nothing!!

  • Lesa says:

I started taking GSE for a bladder infection that was re-occurring every three months. Have been free of infection now for four months! I also accidentally watered my plants with it one day and noticed an hour later that they were perky and more alive than they had ever been. So now I use a few drops in my watering jug!

  • Kevin says:
